I was personally honored to be the lead plaintiff on a law suit that ended up at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2004, against Charleston County Council of Charleston, South Carolina for the Disenfranchisement of the African American community in 2004 that had existed for over 50 years and the county at that time had a population of over 350,000 .

 

We were able to be successful and now have adequate representatives on County Council since that day in 2004...

 

We moved from the At Large voting system in the Charleston area to now, the Single member District..and do have adequate representatives on Charleston, 

 

And it gives me, great honor to have met these two great men
